6th Annual AmTryke Rodeo Brings Plenty Of Joy

The scene inside the spacious Tuscan Ballroom was one of laughter, smiles and excitement on July 18
during the 6th Annual AmTryke Rodeo and Open House in Reno, Nevada.

This year, over 40 individuals with disabilities from the Reno area were able to ride away with their very own AmTryke therapeutic tricycle, while also being introduced to the wonderful work of the AMBUCS organization.

“Words can’t express our gratitude for all that AMBUCS has done today” said Jason Gowins, the parent of a
trike recipient. “With this AmTryke, my son will finally be able to ride around our neighborhood and play with some of the other kids in his age bracket.”

AMBUCS members from all over the nation raised money to fund each of the trikes donated during the Rodeo, which included the new ProSeries 1424 and HP-1000 models.

This event was also made possible by a partnership with Children In Motion therapy facility who identified
the trike recipients months in advance and worked hard to generate visibility in the community. Some of
these participating therapists included Rebecca McFidden, Susan Richards and Saundra Gumfory.

As a result this year’s Rodeo attracted a great deal of media coverage including an excellent preview article
in the Reno Gazette daily newspaper as well as a heart-warming report on the Saturday evening edition of the local ABC affiliate, KOLO TV. A video of the Rodeo TV feature can currently be viewed on the homepage of www.ambucs.org.
