Bob Richard Joins AMBUCS Resource Center Staff
National AMBUCS, Inc is pleased to announce that Bob Richard has joined the AMBUCS Resource Center staff as a part-time grant writer. His duties will include assisting local chapters in identifying funding sources for AmTrykes. Bob will be offering technical and grant writing assistance for developing AmTryke programs in local chapters.
Bob comes to us from the Danville Illinois Police Department where he retired after 33 years as a police officer. One of his responsibilities as Deputy Director of Police was grant preparation, which he did for the past 15 years.
He is also a longtime member of the Danville, IL chapter of AMBUCS. Since 1999 he has been the primary grant writer for the Danville chapter on three capital improvement projects; two accessible playgrounds and an accessible water play area. Bob has completed successful grant applications to foundations, corporations and community groups that helped fund the nearly three quarters of a million dollars needed to complete these projects. In addition, he has successfully completed grants for National AMBUCS in our efforts to provide AmTrykes to children on the National Wish List.
A dedicated member of the AMBUCS organization, Bob has been a past chapter president, Ambuc of the Year, National Project Manager of the Year, “Sparkplug”, and a member of the Big Hat Club. He has served on the National Ambility Advisory Board.
Right now, he is eager to help other chapters in their quest to fund AmTrykes. He will be contacting local chapter presidents to see how he can assist their efforts.
Bob can be reached at [email protected] or at 217-304-2238.
