Walker Chapter Helps Build New AmTryke Track
On May 31, the Walker, MI chapter participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new 400-foot circular AmTryke riding path, located at the nearby Indian Trails Camp. Dozens of representative from a number of organizations - not to mention the local media outlets - were on hand for the event which celebrated the grand opening of a track specifically designed with AmTryke riders in mind. The project also included the paving of a new grade down the camp’s lake and basketball courts, and as well as additional parking. The Walker AMBUCS members, along with the help from Indian Trails, AmeriCorps and other sponsors, were able to raise $10,000 of money for the project which carried a total price tag of approximately $40,000. In addition, the chapter donated eight AmTrykes that will remain at the camp.
