Marketing Tips:  (The key to a successful program is marketing – get the word out!)

Note: All marketing costs will be incurred by the local chapter

Here are some ideas to ensure your chapter gets the most out of this program: 

• Use your local chapter website to promote the Vehicle Donation Program.  Melwood will be provide a banner for your website as well as a link to the main AMBUCS website that contains a Vehicle Donation Program page and link to the online donation form (Extremely critical as Melwood receives 30% of our donations online)
• Continuously place articles in your chapter newsletters
• Send letters to current chapter donors advising of vehicle donation program
• Magnetic signs for side of vans used in transportation (small cost, contact Ron if interested at [email protected], we can place bulk order at reduced costs)
• Be creative, make flyers and distribute at various chapter events (need ideas, just give us a call - Ron – 301-856-6340)
• Speak to auto dealership and auto repair facilities to refer individual not wishing to repair their vehicle to donate to AMBUCS
• Use local newspapers to place ads (normally fee associated)
• Use local radio advertisement – attempt to obtain free public service announcement (PSA’s), normally 30 second radio spots are most effective
• Use local television (can be expensive for some markets, however normally is the most effective)

Invest in your program: 

• I would recommend reinvesting 20% of your earnings back into your program.

• Donate on line via your local website or at www.ambucs.org
• Complete and fax “The AMBUCS Vehicle Donation” sheet to 301-599-0005.  (This form can be furnished to auto dealerships or auto repair facilities)
