AMBUCS 78th Annual National Conference

July 19- 22, 2000
New Orleans, LA

2000 is a year of celebrations, and where else but New Orleans would you want to be to celebrate the accomplishments of our association with all your Ambuc friends. Tucked away in the bend of the Mississippi River, the Crescent City offers its visitors a variety of adventures, activities, cultures and cuisine.

The French Quarter

The Old World Charm of the French Quarter is what attracts thousands of visitors to New Orleans every year. Some of the French Quarter's most famous attractions include the St. Louis Cemetery No. 2, The French Market and the most famous of all, Bourbon Street!

The Garden District

This district, established by the Americans after the Louisiana Purchase, is a favorite of history buffs and lovers of classic European architecture. The district’s most famous attraction today is the house of author Anne Rice, a lavender mansion at the corner of First and Chestnut.

Dining in New Orleans

When it comes to dining in New Orleans, "Lagniappe" (a little more) is a part of life. A little more service, a slightly larger portion and a touch more of ambiance. No matter what your taste is, New Orleans has it- Italian, American, French. Of course no trip to New Orleans would be complete without tasting the native Cajun and Creole cuisine.

Music

Music fills the streets of New Orleans all day long. Whether you are enjoying the sound of a local band in a small jazz club, or just walking down the street to the sounds of the Dixie-land combos.

As they Say in New Orleans "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" Let the Good Times Roll! With so much going on, you will see why in New Orleans celebrations are a way of life.
